How do I even begin to encapsulate the sensory explosion that was yesterday into a selection of images? It feels virtually impossible.

I become aware as I was shooting that I was a mere witness to something so rich in heritage, tradition, love and connection and it was purely my job to document, document, document. I had no choice, I was along for the ride.

I watched in awe as Rojah’s Mother prepared her for the Sri Lanken Hindu ceremony (which followed their legal one an hour before) and viscerally felt how important this part was to them, which was confirmed when she was moved to tears.

Amidst it all, I found not only a deep love and friendship between Rojah and Ravi but also a deep love for other people. I was incredibly welcome the whole day and felt their warmth as people in every moment.
