During our initial meeting, Lisa and Steve explained to me that they were after some really relaxed, candid photography on their wedding day and weren't too keen on any formal, posed photographs. After hearing this, I knew we'd be a good fit and I felt confident that I would be able to use my soft, documentary approach to its fullest.
On the day of the wedding, I met Lisa in one of The Ardens hotel rooms, whereby I was greeted by a merry bridal party, all whizzing around with the excitement of the moring. Lisa's beautiful hair and make-up was created by the talented Zara at Zara - Beautiful Hair and Makeup
Lisa found her perfect dress at Maggie Sottero, which was complimented beautifully by the pale blue and white lace bridesmaids dresses from Chi Chi London. They all looked so pretty and fit perfectly with the vintage styling of their ceremony and reception room I had peeked at before heading up.
After spending about 45 minutes with the girls, I made my way down to meet Steve in the hotel lobby as he was greeting guests and ensuring that the pre-ceremony drinks were well under way. I loved the pop of orange button holes on the grooms mens chequed blue Next suits. I managed to sneak in a few shots of the ceremony and reception room before the wedding party headed down for an afternoon ceremony.
Lisa and Steve should also win an award for the biggest transformation of hotel. The Arden Hotel Birmingham, looked so different! Lisa's eye for detail and love of classic vintage styling meant that they enjoyed a balance of pretty and quirky in equal measures.
Lisa herself can take all credit for the beautiful table decor and an incredible sweet table, whilst her Dad made the wooden signs and her Aunt perfected the pretty, wild flower arrangements through out the ceremony and reception room. A couple of other vendors that added to the soft, vintage feel of the wedding are Nicolaz Cakes and also Perfectly Placed for the chair covers and sashes.
Although I was only with you for a short time on your wedding day, what I witnessed was a room full of love and friendship and I'm sure you had the most fantastic evening.
